CHRIS DYER

Chris Dyer (Lima, Peru, 1980). Jusqu’à l’âge de dix-sept ans, Chris vivait à Lima, au Pérou, où il se con- sacrait au surf, au skateboard, et au soutien parfois virulent de l’équipe de soccer locale (avec son ex-gang de rue, Sepulcro). Il a étudié l’art au Canada, et vit aujourd’hui à Montréal. Dyer dessine des planches de skate pour Creation Skateboard (Californie), ainsi que pour de nombreuses marques comme Satori Move- ment, Think, Skull Skates, Equilibrium (Pérou), Freak (Belgique), Drop Dead (Brésil), Irewood (Norvège), Love (Toronto), et Bustin (New York). Il possède également sa propre ligne de vêtements équitables, Posi- tive creations. Il a exposé en solo ou en groupe au Pérou, au Mexique, en Belgique, à San Francisco, Seat- tle, Miami, Paris, Berlin et New York, ainsi qu’au Canada. Son travail figure également dans plusieurs livres et magazines au niveau international. Un documentaire dédié à son oeuvre et à son art est disponible sur DVD, et Schiffer Publications lui a consacré un livre paru en novembre 2011.

Chris Dyer (Lima, Peru, 1980) lived in Peru until the age of 17, engaging in surfing, banana-board skateboard- ing, and violent soccer fanaticism (with his ex-street gang, Sepulcro). He then moved to Canada to attend art college and currently lives and works in Montreal. Dyer is responsible for the graphic design for Creation Skateboards (California) as well as many other skate brands including Satori Movement, Think, Skull Skates, Equilibrium (Peru), Freak (Belgium), Drop Dead (Brazil), Irewood (Norway), Love (Toronto), and Bustin (New York). He also runs his own sustainable clothing line called Positive Creations. He has had solo and group exhibitions in Peru, Mexico, Belgium, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Paris, Berlin, New York, and across Can- ada. His art has also been featured in several books and magazines worldwide. A full feature documentary was released on DVD about his life and works, and an art book was published by Schiffer Publications in November 2011.
