FIMA 2012

29Jun2012

En Masse again made its mark at the annual art fair Festival International des Arts de Montreal, June 27 – July 1, in MTL’s Village district. First up was a live painting session at Bar Apollon for the opening-night party (Jason Wasserman, Raphaële Bard, Tyler Rauman, Dave Todaro and Rupert Bottenberg took part in the as-yet unfinished canvas). An En Masse For the Masses tent went up the next two days, raising funds and awareness. The climactic weekend saw EMFTM orchestrating a public blackboard jam with a variety of EM regulars participating.

A block away in Parc Serge-Garant, behind Beaudry metro, the festival team erected three Urban Totems —11-foot stacked-box structures, one each for En Masse, for Montreal street-art initiative CEASE and Toronto’s two-tone doodle-mural lords Trio Magnus. Each of the three teams worked their totem to perfection, each in their own inimitable style yet with a great synergy flowing through the park. The talent on the EM totem: Rupert Bottenberg, Fred Caron, Jason Wasserman, Quebec City’s Avive, Beeforeo, E.ville, Melissa Del Pinto, Dave Todaro, Amandine Navarro and CEASE’s Alan Ganev.

Thanks to FIMA’s Stéphane Mabilais and Lise Ducos for their invaluable help and faith in us!

And another special thanks to Jason Wasserman for these great pics!!
